SAP ECC 6.0 Full Version 22: The Differences Between On-Premise and Cloud Platforms

For most organizations, migrating to S/4 HANA will certainly be the easiest step following the end of mainstream support for ECC6 and SAP as well as it's ecosystem of partners have developed toolkits and migration strategies to make this easier than ever. Despite that, the transition is not risk or cost free at all and should be done carefully.

Businesses often compare SAP ECC to SAP ERP HANA. If you are not a tech person it might seem confusing. The web is full of contradictory answers and unclear articles. In reality, the answer is very simple.

In 2017, SAP released S/4HANA Cloud. This new software proved to be ideal for businesses with 1.500+ employees. Larger organizations often operate on a two-tiered system. With the cloud-based version of HANA, corporations can manage a comprehensive full business suite solution. It includes SAP ERP Central Component, S/4 HANA, and the cloud version of S/4 HANA.

S/4 HANA is full of trending tech functions. For instance, machine learning is now available through SAP Clea. You can now have a digital assistant called CoPilot. SAP improves and updates software non-stop. HANA is a rapidly developing part of SAP. It helps align business data with artificial intelligence.

Business software is essential for businesses. It maximizes efficiency and organizes management tasks. ERP, ECC, and HANA are robust components of SAP business suit. Companies leverage their functionality to ensure their business reaches its full potential.

Try to form your own strategy for studying. Categorize the topics as one which require conceptual understanding and one which has to deal with theoretical portions. You can also focus on the hands-on experience. Try to refer to multiple resources for reading to handle the tricky portions of the exam. Always fix the time for study and try to avoid the distractions as much as you can. Make revision notes and schedule your tests time to time. Always stick to your plan and implement it as you have decided to. Implementing your strategy successfully is so much important for passing the exam.

Proper planning for a SAP S/4HANA transition will ensure that everyone knows exactly what they are responsible for throughout the project. Before we start working, we should determine the important areas to concentrate on to plan for project tasks. Completing a SAP S/4HANA transition successfully within schedule and budget can be a very challenging endeavour for customers who have large amounts of data, a large number of company codes, controlling areas, operating concerns, chart of depreciations, etc.

There is the question of whether vendor lock-in through the full stack is an issue for customers - presently they can move around contracts as they move to different providers. This may be partially mitigated by SAP allowing changes to the underlying vendors.

1. Phase "RUN ABAP Reports"For example: 'Executing ABAP report RUTTTYPSET...'. When this step is executed there maybe a system overload due to background jobs automatically started in parallel by the system. Wait some minutes then press the 'Retry' button. Repeat this 'Retry' until the step was executed successfully.

Most clients use the less expensive HANA runtime version, licensed as a percentage of the total value of licenses. HANA full use, also called HANA enterprise, offers a lot more functionality and is priced based on the used storage volume, an option that mostly is more costly.

Overlicensing is much more common than underlicensing. It is characterized by the fact that more licenses were purchased by the company than were necessary. Often, to be on the safe side, the significantly more expensive license types were purchased, even though their functionality is not fully utilized. In addition, if a user has not been assigned a license at all, then the expensive Professional User category is automatically applied when measuring. Although customers are not in breach of the SAP contract when they over-license, this results in unnecessary expenses in yearly maintenance.

The figure below shows the transparent evaluation from samQ of SAP user licenses according to the SAP functionality used. This usage data is evaluated with the help of a transaction database. This database defines which licenses are required for each transaction executed in SAP. This enables the tool to determine the optimal license type for each SAP user. However, this evaluation of the transactions must not happen only once, but must be executed again and again, otherwise only a snapshot is created. Since both the work environment (e.g., using a new SAP program) and the user's tasks are constantly changing, this must dynamically adjust the license inventory. The tool must be able to identify new transactions and evaluate them in terms of the correct license type. Likewise, the program must be able to recognize when a user is not using the full scope of his SAP license or is violating the license terms. In any case, the tool must be able to assign the appropriate license type to each SAP user automatically, without manual intervention, and change it if necessary.

With Emergency Access Management (EAM), a user can perform emergency activities outside his or her standard roles. The user performs the emergency activities in a controlled and fully auditable environment by checking out a firefighter ID. The application allows for a firefighter ID that grants the user (firefighter) broad yet regulated access. All activities that are performed in the context of the firefighter ID are logged and can be reviewed.

Is there any configuration that needs to be enabled which automatically creates a Bank Master record when creating a Vendor Master? For example, in current ECC environment for us, say we are creating a new Vendor with a Bank that doesnt exist in BNKA table today. The current config is set up such that, even if it is bank that doesnt exist in BNKA, the vendor creation doesnt throw any error, but creates the bank master automatically and lets us add the bank details on the vendor and create it successfully. So there is something that is triggering FI01 through XK01 or XK02. We are moving to S4 and need this to happen the same way in S4 and not sure where that config is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The RMAN plug-in is deployed on an Oracle server as an SBT plug-in and all backup and restore operations can be performed in the RMAN console. The database backups will be transferred to Veeam backup repositories via the plug-in. The Oracle database administrator thus has everything under their full control.

Veeam creates image-based backups on a block level and protects entire VMs as a copy regardless of its content. Backup efficiency and speed is increased by using Change Block Tracking (CBT) technologies for VMware/Hyper-V VMs and physical servers. CBT allows Veeam to pull out the changed blocks of data in every backup job run which optimizes data flow and backup time. Although only the changed data is processed, a backup job results in a consistent, full backup of the database itself because the restore point includes a restorable image of the full VM, which includes the database itself.

There are various other Oracle commands and RMAN scripts used by Veeam according to the Oracle best practice backup and restore guidelines to check the database is consistent after the restore. The full list of commands is documented in the Appendix of the white paper, Veeam Availability Suite and SAP on Oracle Deployment Guide. 2ff7e9595c
